Lowestoft and Waveney Breastfeeding Support
Lowestoft and Waveney Support (LWBS) started in November 2019, launching our first Breastfeeding Cafe at Dinky Town in Oulton Broad in January 2020.
For the first few months we ran our Dinky Town Cafe and our Facebook group and page, but we were soon forced to change how we run when the COVID 19 pandemic hit the UK.
During the first 6 months of the pandemic we supported families online and we returned face-to-face in October 2020 with our breastfeeding support clinic. We were able to reopened our cafe properly in June 2021.
We now run 6 community breastfeeding cafes each week, offer free Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) home visits for families in need and loan out breast pumps.
Breastfeeding Cafes
Our Breastfeeding cafes run across the area and they are a great place to meet other families and get support for breastfeeding, chestfeeding or providing your child with breastmilk.
IBCLC Home Visits
IBCLC Home Visits are available to request for families with complex breastfeeding or chestfeeding issues.
Breast pump hire
We have pumps available for hire for families who require a hospital grade pump short term due to a premature or unwell baby or breastfeeding/chestfeeding difficulties.
