Where do we cover

Lowestoft and Waveney Breastfeeding Support was initially set up to cover Lowestoft back in January 2020. When covid hit we became the only online option across the area and due to demand we have expanded our services over the years. We now cover areas including Lowestoft, Beccles, Bungay, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston. Our aim is to provide breastfeeding support to families who access the James Paget University Hospital's midwifery services, or those who could access them but choose to use another local hospitals services.

Anyone who wishes to travel to a breastfeeding cafe is welcome to attend and access our breastfeeding support from our team of peer supporters and breastfeeding counsellors. 

However our IBCLC home visits and breast pump hire is restricted by geographical boundaries. Online allergy zooms with Kaya are available for those living out of area but for a donation to the charity.

Our service area

All families who live within the blue boundaries on the map are entitled to access our IBCLC home visit service and breast pump hire. This area includes 

  • Winterton-on-Sea

  • Hemsby

  • Caister-on-Sea

  • Great Yarmouth

  • Gorleston

  • Corton

  • Lowestoft

  • Beccles

  • Bungay

  • Halesworth

  • Kessingland

  • Southwold

  • Dunwich

This list is not exclusive so if you aren't sure please ask.

Families who live in the area between the blue and red lines are not able to access our breast pump hire service however we may be able to offer a home visit in certain situations. This area includes

  • Darsham

  • Loddon

  • Reedham

  • Acle

  • Potter Heigham

For families who live outside of the red line we are not able to offer a home visit to and we have included the below graphic of free available breastfeeding support. If you require an IBCLC we would suggest you look at www.lcgb.org where you can search for your nearest IBCLC.
