Train with us

Interested in training with us?

Within Lowestoft and Waveney Breastfeeding Support we have an amazing team of peer supporters who volunteer for us. Training is available for breastfeeding peer supporters and babywearing peer supporters currently.

What is needed?

To be a breastfeeding supporter you need to have either breastfed or pumped for 6 months with one of your children. There are no set requirements for a babywearing peer supporter other than a keen interest in supporting families to carry their babies safely.

What do we expect?

We will support you with your training however is needed, we can provide financial support, tech support, sling loans for training. You will be expected to support us at one session a month for one year following passing your training.

We also request that you complete Safeguarding training (free of charge) online for both Children's and Adults. This is unless you have safeguarding training to an appropriate level within your work role.

Why volunteer with us?

As a charity we are committed to supporting our volunteers to train and will support you with an accessibility concerns. You are always able to bring children with you under school age and we are happy to work with parents who are home schooling.
